INTRODUCTION

Keith Anthonisz has been performing live in Perth on a regular basis since 1995, first with Doom Ensemble and Winter and more recently with the Three Wise Monkeys since 2000.

On Saturday 12th December 2015, Keith Anthonisz and John McNair played at Folk and Roots @ Guildford at the Mechanics Hall in Guildford. On Sunday 22nd November, Keith Anthonisz played at Perth Folk and Roots Club. On Saturday 14th November, Keith Anthonisz and John McNair played at Folk and Roots @ Guildford at the Mechanics Hall in Guildford. On Sunday 25th October, Keith Anthonisz played at Perth Folk and Roots Club in Mount Lawley. On Saturday 10th October, Keith Anthonisz and John McNair played at Folk and Roots @ Guildford. On Sunday 28th October 2012 Keith Anthonisz played solo at a party in Lynwood. On Thursday 18th October 2012, the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported John Talati and Alex Knightly at the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel. On Sunday 23th September 2012 and later on Sunday 21st October 2012, Keith Anthonisz presented songwriting workshops at the Folk and Roots Workshops supported by WA Folk Federation and APRA at the North Perth Lesser Hall in View Street. On Thursday 20th September 2012, the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported Littlest Fox at the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel. On Saturday 25th August, Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet joined Rick Steele, Wayen Freer, Marc Gordon, Djangle and Steve Froudist at the Pickers and Slidders at the Flying Scotsman in Mount Lawley. On Thursday 9th August, 2012 the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported Lammas Tide and Rose Parker at the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel. On Saturday 21st July 2012, Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet joined Rick Steele Trio, Djangle at the Pickers and Slidders at the Flying Scotsman in Mount Lawley. On Thursday 12th July 2012, the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported Gang of Three and Jeremy Threlfall at the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel. On Thursday 14th June 2012 the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported Rick Steele and Dave Robertson at the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel. On Thursday 17th May 2012, the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported Lauren Arthur and Greg Cunningham at the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel. On Thursday 19th April 2012, the Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet played the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Oxford Hotel with David Hyams and John Ralph. The Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supported Lauren Arthur and Steve Froudist on Sunday 8th April, 2012 at the Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre. They also performing at the Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre on Sunday 1st April 2012 with Rachel Dillon and Joel Smoker and performed at the Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre on Sunday 25th, 18th, 11th and 4th March 2012 with a variety of other artists. Keith Anthonisz and John McNair were also part of the new Perth Folk and Roots Club line-up supported by the WA Folk Federation at the Oxford Hotel in Leederville starting at 8pm on Thursday 9th February 2012.

In 2011, Keith Anthonisz performances included Keith Anthonisz and John McNair Duet supporting new performers from the WA Folk Federation Folk and Roots Music Workshops held from May to September 2011 and accompanied their performances at the Old Swan Barracks Bar in Northbridge on Wednesday 2nd and 9th November 2011 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Keith Anthonisz and John McNair also played as a duet at the Riverside Ramble at the Swan Regional Riverside Park on Sunday 23rd October 2011 from 10am to 2pm. Keith Anthonisz played solo songs from the Old Dog CD at the Mount Helena Tavern, 900 Keane Street Mount Helena on Saturday 16th April 2011. The John McNair and Keith Anthonisz Duet supported Kavisha Mazzella who visited Perth from Melbourne to launch her new CD, Love and Sorrow at the Midland Junction Arts Centre on Saturday 9th April 2011 with support of WA Folk Federation and City of Swan. The John McNair and Keith Anthonisz Duet also supported Neil Murray, a founding member of the Warumpi Band and composer of the Aussie anthem "My Island Home" at the Midland Junction Arts Centre on Saturday 5th March 2011. The concert was a special event arranged by City of Swan, WA Folk Federation and Phoebe Corke Management. John McNair and Keith Anthonisz also played at the Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre on Sunday 27th and 20th February 2011 from 10.30am to 3.30pm at the Perth Cultural Centre supported by City of Perth, EPRA and the WA Folk Federation. John McNair and Keith Anthonisz previously played at the Folk and Roots @ Perth Cultural Centre on Sunday 23rd January 2011 and on 19th December and 12th December 2010 from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at the Perth Cultural Centre.

In 2010, Keith Anthonisz and John McNair played as a duet at the Northam Folk, Roots and Dance Festival at Bernard Park in Northam on Saturday 4th December 2010 between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys performed songs from their new Old Dog album at a CD launch on Tuesday 10th August 2010 at the Perth Blues Club, Sunday 15th August 2010 at the Indi Bar with Rick Steele in support and on Thursday 26th August 2010 at the Oxford Hotel with Jon Edwards in support. Keith Anthonisz also played in a duet with John McNair at the WA Folk Federation and City of Swan Seasons Concert Series event on Sunday 16th May 2010 from 12noon to 6pm at the Midland Junction Arts Centre, corner of Great Eastern Hwy & Cale St, Midland. In 2009, Keith Anthonisz previously performed on Sunday 20th December 2009, at the Yanchep Inn in the Yanchep National Park and at the Seasons Concert Series event on 19th December 2009 from 12 noon followed by other artists at the Woodlake Amphitheatre in Ellenbrook. Previously, Keith Anthonisz played solo at the Wolf Lane Folk and Roots Experience on Saturday 5th December 2009 at Wolf Lane in Perth. Keith Anthonisz also played solo as a support for Ken Nichol, guitarist for UK legendary folk band Steeleye Span on 12th October 2009 at the Midland Junction Arts Centre. Keith Anthonisz and Jeremy Threlfall performed at the Season Concert Series at the Midland Junction Arts Centre on Sunday 6th September 2009. Keith Anthonisz and 3 Wise Monkeys performances in 2009 also included the Season Concert Series at the Midland Town Hall on Sunday 7th June 2009 sponsored by City of Swan. Keith Anthonisz also played solo acoustic guitar at the Darlington Winery in Darlington on Sunday 8th March and 11th January for an afternoon session.

In 2008, Keith Anthonisz performances included solo at the Swan Hotel on November 27th 2008 and at the Broken Hill Hotel on November 9th 2008. Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys played at the Toodyay Folk Festival on Sunday 23rd November, 2008. They were previously at the Swan Hotel in North Fremantle, on September 25th and August 28th with David Minder, Paul Mc Carthy & Henk Langendoen. They were also at the Glen Forrest Folk, Blues and Roots concert on August 10th, 2008 at the Glen Forrest Hall , Marnie Road, Glen Forrest with Djangle, Doris and John Ralph and special guests. Keith and Three Wise Monkeys also performed with Vinyl Sea at the Swan Lounge, Swan Hotel, 201 Queen Victoria Street, North Fremantle on Thursday 26th June, 2008. Previously, Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys were in acoustic mode at the Mount Lawley Folk, Blues and Roots show at the Velvet Lounge, 639 Beaufort Street from 2.30 to 6.30pm on Sunday afternoon, February 10th, 2008.

In 2007, Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys performances included the Oxford Hotel on Thursday 30th August 2007 with Vinyl Sea and Dean Anthonisz of Mile End fame and they also performed at the Perth Blues Club, Charles Hotel, 509 Charles Street on Tuesday 17th July 2007. Keith Anthonisz performed with John Mc Nair at the Darlington Folk and Roots Concert on 27th May 2007. The duo also performed at the Basement Lounge Norfolk Hotel on 3rd May 2007 and at the Red Cabbage Restaurant for New Years Eve on 31st December 2007 and at a number of Sundowners at Technology Park in Bentley on 21st January 2007, 22nd February 2007, 29th March 2007, 26th April 2007 and 24th May, 2007.

In 2006, Keith Anthonisz and the Three Wise Monkeys performances included the Perth Blues Club on Tuesday 10th October 2006. They also played at the Oxford Hotel on Thursday 28th September 2006 and Keith also played acoustic guitar with Steve Tallis at the Swan Hotel in North Fremantle on Wednesday night, September 13th and 27th 2006. Keith also played as a guest artist for the Steve Tallis CD launch of Jezebel Spirit on the River Boat Gambler,Sunday 21st May 2006, on a sundowner trip on the Swan River in Perth. Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys played at the Indi Bar on Saturday, 25th February 2006 and at the Perth Blues Club on Tuesday January 17th 2006 with the Bondi Cigars.

In 2005, Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys performances included a Christmas show at the Waters Edge Winery on Friday 23rd December 2005 and the Oxford Hotel, in Leederville on Thursday, 20th October 2005. Previously, Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys played at Kulcha in Fremantle with Matthew Dela Hunty, previously of Tall Tales and True fame, on Friday 8th April 2005. The band also played at the annual Nannup Festival for performances on the weekend for the 5th and 6th of March 2005. Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys performances in 2005 included the Oxford Hotel on February 10th 2005 and the Kulcha Asia Tsunami Benefit performance with musicians from Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia on Friday 4th February 2005, Keith Anthonisz playing solo at the Sweet Java Restaurant, Mount Lawley on Friday 21st January 2005.

Over 2004, Keith Anthonisz with the Three Wise Monkeys played at the Old Swan Brewery in Perth on the Swan River, Thursday 16th December 2004. The band performed at the Oxford Hotel in Leederville on Thursday night, 11th November 2004 with Leigh Salter, Megan Harvey and Marcia Flude. Holidays in Bali and Broome (and a little playing with Bali musicians) took up most of September after a band performance at the Oxford on 26th August 2004. The band launched a new CD and video for the latest album, Promised Land and a video clip for the song, 'Angels of Luck' at the Oxford Hotel on Thursday, 15th July 2004 and performed with ballerina Chloe Trumpeter during the Putting on an Act Festival at the Perth Institute of Performing Arts on Wednesday 21st July 2004. The band focused on the album Promised Land and the accompanying film clip as well as recording 'Spring in Western Australia' for the 175th Anniversary of WA song competition.

Over 2003, Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys played at the Fremantle Arts Centre on Sunday 2nd February 2003 and the Toodyay Moondyne Joe Festival on Sunday 27th April 2003. The band finished playing on the Channel 31 TV show, 'Moose Goes Live' as a show band of this TV progam with former bass man Harlee Dave. Appearances by the band over the twelve months included the Junction Hotel, the Waikiki Hotel in Safety Bay, Ettamogah in Morley and the Osborne Park Hotel and the opening of an exhibition at Greg James Sculpture Studio Gallery, Unit 2, J Shed, in Fremantle as a part of the Fremantle Festival. Keith and Three Wise Monkeys were also down South for a performance at the Brunswick Junction Tavern and have also played at the Toodyay Races, the Noble Falls Tavern, the Davilak Tavern in Fremantle on Friday nights, the Carlisle Hotel on Friday nights and at La Bog in Fremantle on Sunday nights. Residencies included a month at La Bog in Fremantle in May to June 2003 and six months at Carnegies in Murray Street, Perth from September 2002 to March 2003. In 2002 the band had a three month residency at the Carlton Hotel from October to January 2002.

Prior to 2002, Keith Anthonisz had a six month residency at the Attfield Tavern in Maddington from March to August 2001, two months at the Rosemount Hotel in February and March 2001, three months at the Carlton Hotel in 2000 and three months at the Melbourne Hotel in 2000. Keith also played with the Three Wise Monkeys at the Joondalup Night Markets on Reid Promenade in Joondalup City every Friday night from December 2001 to March 2002. Other venues the band performed at during this period included the Oxford Hotel and the Royal Perth Yacht Club.

Keith Anthonisz has also performed at a number of festivals including playing solo at at the Festival Club at the Tollwood Festival in Munich, Germany in June 2001 and with Winter and Organic during the Blues at Bridgetown Festival in November 2001, 2002 and 2003, and with the Three Wise Monkeys at the Nannup Festival in 2003 and the Toodjay Moondyne Joe Festival in 2003.

Performances with Winter were regular up to the completion of eight months in acoustic mode at the Knutsford Arms Hotel every Friday and at the Indi Bar once a month during 1999.

In terms of past performances prior between 1996 and 1998, Winter completed a three month residency at the Windsor Hotel, a two month residency at Steves Hotel, a three month residency basis at the Fat Bellies Cafe in Leederville and a three month residency at the Brass Monkey Hotel. Regular performances at the Greenwich Bar and Mojos have been another feature of Winter activities as a part of the Black Light Lounge Club organised by Keith.

Other performances have been held at the Karridale Tavern in Margaret River, the Peninsula Hotel in Mandurah, the Prince of Wales Hotel in Bunbury, the X Change Hotel in Pinjarra, the Ozone Bar in Northbridge, PICA Cafe, Edith Cowan University Bar, Murdoch University, Spiral Gallery, Clancys in Fremantle, Vultures, Lawleys Bar and Cafe and the Soho Bar and Cafe in Victoria Park. Previously, Winter was playing on a residency basis with Bruce Abbott at the Como.

Winters performances at the Knutsford Arms Hotel, Steves, Fat Bellies, the Brass Monkey, the Windsor and Como Hotels have focussed on an acoustic side to the band being described as ambient folk rock with a blend of blues and ethereal, atmospheric sounds.

KEITH ANTHONISZ AND THREE WISE MONKEYS

Keith Anthonisz played acoustic guitar and sang songs supported by Three Wise Monkeys who were Russell Hughes on drums, Andy Wieczorek on electric guitar and Richard Poole on bass from 2001 to 2010. Other musicians who played with Three Wise Monkeys included Howard Shawcross, Michael Howesmith and Warren Hillman. Keith Anthonisz and Three Wise Monkeys kept the music fresh and fluid in keeping with the bands approach to having a good time, playing a mix of originals and standards while enjoying an easy interaction with audiences reflecting many years of experience performing with other acts to deliver choice rock, motown and rhythm and blues.

THE BUSKERS CLUB

Keith formed the Buskers Club starting on March 23rd 2000 every Thursday night at the Melbourne Hotel, in Perth. After three months at the Melbourne Hotel, the Buskers Club has had residencies at the Carlton Hotel from October to December 2000, the Rosemount from January to March 2001 and again at the Carlton Hotel from October 2001 to January 2002. The Buskers Club became a part of the Perth International Arts Festival Fringe Festival during January and February 2001 marking another musical milestone.

Keith has teamed up with Harlee Dave, Andy Wieczorek and Russell Hughes in performing at the Buskers Club through the Three Wise Monkeys. Howard Shawcross has also featured in the band, performing sets at the Buskers Club along with other acts and free flowing busker performances in between.

Notable performances have included feral busker James Gentle, Alon Shimon Shai- Kaspi with his whimsical European style ballads backed by classical guitar, French bluesman Christian Maucery, acoustic band Organic, chick rockband Beamer and the glam pop of Myki.

ARTS INVOLVEMENT

Keith Anthonisz through Future Systems has been responsible for organising a number of events involving a range of alternative or original musicians, poets, painters, photographers, film makers, and fashion designers.

Keith in recent times has been responsible for organising the Swan River Music Markets at Garvey Park along the river in Ascot during February 2001 with the support of the Belmont City Council. Keith also became involved in the Perth International Festival Fringe Festival with the Buskers Club appearing at the Rosemount Hotel every Sunday during the Festival from January to February 2001.

Notable arts performances have included appearances with instrumentalist E M Vlatko, aboriginal singer Fred Penny, sitarist Scott Mitchell, poet Ashley Higgs, instrumentalist Errol H Tout at the Subiaco Hotel and a variety of musicians at the Actors Centre on Saturday nights, the Ozone Bar and the Claisebrook Tavern including the bands Frumpy, New Egyptian Kings, Halogen, Beltane, Miteyko, Proof, the Deredjeff Festival of Percussion, Animal Kingdom, Beaverloop, 17th Doll,Adam Said Galore, Rainbow Serpent and Broken Wind Ensemble. Winter performances were a part of the Lawrence Avenue Street Party and Festival in November 1998 and in 2000. The Trench Exhibition held at the Boans Warehouse and performances at Arts in the Park held at Russell Square in Northbridge in 1995 are further examples of support for the arts

THE BLACK LIGHT LOUNGE CLUB

Keith was responsible for organising music performances with artists at the Black Light Lounge Club. This has included work with black light painter Maria Vina Cerdeira , poet Allan Boyd of Open Mouth poetry at Pica Bar and a host of artists at the Black Light Lounge Club at the Greenwich and Mojos in Fremantle. Notable artist performances have been held with John Butler who has gone on to greater things, Mr Pink now known as Cartman, the Gypsy Mamas, an all girl drumming and belly dancer band, solo guitar by Rebecca Moore, sitar by Scott Mitchell, poetry by Ashley Higgs, movies by Blue Moon Films and band performance by the Gutterville Splendor Six, Halogen, Superfly, Lamington Drive and Box.

Keith through the Black Light Lounge Club focussed on performances featuring artists from a variety of areas to build a network of greater appreciation in the arts and a sense of community amongst artists and musicians.

Participation in the Art Rage Festival has also a feature of musical activity in the arts area. Involvement in ArtRage as a part of the Festival Club was featured in October 15, 1999 with the Black Light Lounge Club which followed 1998 with three shows of the Black Light Lounge Club held as a part of the ArtRage Festival Club at the Gas Works.

DOOM ENSEMBLE - NORTHBRIDGE THE TUNNEL

Community concerns have been a focus of attention in the past with Doom Ensemble performing the Northbridge - The Tunnel song written by Keith to support the Cities for People community organisation and their concerns over the impact of the Northern Bypass Freeway Development which resulted in the demolition of Hotels used as venues by musicians.

An unplugged performance on RTR radios environmental program Understory as well as a benefit performance at the Brisbane Hotel with Steve Tallis and Bruce Abbott was held.

During October 1995, Doom Ensemble performed fourteen times as a part of the activity associated with the Northbridge Tunnel. The Three Wise Monkeys are now involved in a less hectic performance schedule playing on average once or twice a week.

OTHER COMMUNITY BENEFIT WORK

Keith has always sought involvement in a range of community activities and is currently involved in supporting the Western Australian folk music comunity through his work with the Western Australian Folk Federation since 2007.

Keith has also been active in the past in developing benefit performances including for examples a benefit for the Red Cross at the Ozone Bar with Winter, Steve Tallis, Frumpy and New Egyptian Kings in Northbridge in 1997. The performance was the first time Red Cross had worked with local original musicians in Perth. Doom Ensemble also performed the new age Ancient Path Festival in Fremantle in 1995.
